Outdoor Living Transformation in Clifton, NJ: Custom Kitchen, Fire Pit & Spa Installation
A complete backyard renovation designed for entertaining
At JB'S Landscaping, we had the privilege of bringing a homeowner’s dream outdoor space to life in Clifton, New Jersey. This extensive backyard project was all about creating a luxurious, functional layout for entertaining, and using premium materials to ensure it looked stunning year-round.
The homeowner wanted to replace a damaged, unusable deck and make the space more welcoming for family and corporate gatherings. Our team delivered a full transformation, including a custom outdoor kitchen, an in-ground spa, a new fire pit, elegant landscape lighting, and a redesigned driveway built for showcasing a classic car.
Here's What We Did...
We completely reimagined this outdoor space. Here’s what the project included:
- Removed the old, damaged deck
- Ripped out ground junipers to open up the space between the eating area and pool
- Graded the area to match the existing pool deck for proper drainage
- Custom-built outdoor kitchen with:
- 40" grill, side burner, two refrigerators, ice maker, sink, storage
- Stone veneer finish in Silver Mountain
- Installed a Weston Stone gas fire pit in Sable Blend
- Installed a custom in-ground hot tub from Bliss Spa, including full plumbing and electrical coordination
- New patio pavers throughout the backyard to match the pool deck
- Planted 31 privacy Green Giants along the fence line
- Added extensive landscape lighting, including uplights, path lights, and integrated in-lite lights

Built a custom paver driveway with a split-seam inlay and lighting to showcase the homeowner’s vintage car
Challenges we overcame...
This project came with some complex logistics:

- The site had tight access, so we removed and later rebuilt part of the gate
- There was no space for soil dumping, so all excess dirt was hauled off-site
- The hot tub delivery company wouldn’t ship to the home, so we received it at our shop and hauled it on our trailer
- We coordinated with multiple contractors (electrician, plumber, irrigation) to meet permit requirements

We only use high-end, proven materials. For this project, we used a combination of Belgard, Techo-Bloc, and Bliss Spa components, along with Kichler and FX Luminaire lighting.
